Franklin County Community COVID Relief Funds Give Back
No one knows a community better than the people who call it home. That’s what makes local community funds so effective—they leverage this knowledge to make tangible differences in the lives of their neighbors.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who supported the Frankfort/Franklin County Community COVID Relief Fund, more than $30,270 in grants awards have supported the Salvation Army, Franklin County Women & Family Shelter, Access Soup Kitchen & Men’s Shelter, Simon House, Mission Frankfort Clinic, Sunshine Center, ROSM, Community Food Pantry of Franklin County and the Franklin County Senior Citizens Center.
Why does our community need the Franklin County Endowed Community Fund? It’s not just important for civic projects, but also plays a critical role in times of crisis. At the onset of COVID-19, the Franklin County Community Fund quickly mobilized and established a relief fund to support local nonprofits providing critical services.
“The City of Frankfort extends its gratitude to the Franklin County Community Fund for helping our community’s COVID-19 relief efforts,” said Mayor Wilkerson.“We look forward to a continued partnership with the Franklin County Community Fund in an effort to meet future community needs and opportunities.”
Because the Franklin County Community Fund is a permanently endowed fund, it will provide support for the community for years to come. Although fundraising and grantmaking through the COVID Relief Fund has wound down, the Franklin County Community Fund exists in perpetuity to help make Frankfort and Franklin County a more vibrant, generous and engaged community, in good times and in bad.
By giving to the Franklin County Community Fund, you can help make its mission a reality.
