Blue Grass Community Foundation has a proud history of serving visionary nonprofits, schools and religious institutions dedicated to improving the quality of life in our region. We offer a variety of services to our nonprofit community, providing support so that your organization can focus on the important work of your mission.

We can help your nonprofit organization establish and grow an endowment fund. With more than 40 years of experience working within our community’s nonprofit sector, we can help your organization plan and create an endowment that meets your needs for the future. Along with trusted investment expertise and affordable fees, we’ll provide the comprehensive management services you’ll need to oversee and grow your fund. Whether you’re consulting with our experienced planned giving and investment specialists or working with our professional administrative staff, Blue Grass Community Foundation is there for you—every step of the way. For more information about how to open an endowment fund at the Community Foundation, see Start a Fund.

In addition to permanent endowed funds, we also offer non-endowed charitable funds for nonprofits. Organizations use these funds to separate resources for special projects, such as a building campaign. In addition, the non-endowed fund can accept a wide range of asset types for donation. Non-endowed funds offer the benefits of managed investment growth, with the flexibility of distributing the funds you need, when you need them. For more information about how to open a non-endowed fund at the Community Foundation, see Start a Fund.

Serving as a jumping-off point with a safety net, the Community Foundation helps new charitable organizations get started through fiscal sponsorship. We will serve as the fiscal sponsor for your new nonprofit, enabling you to accept tax-deductible contributions, while you work toward your own tax-exempt status. We handle all of the administrative tasks of running your nonprofit, including filing the IRS Form 990 each year. In addition to new nonprofits, community groups with a limited-duration project, such as building a community garden, may also apply for a fiscal sponsorship fund. We provide the expertise and support you need to make your charitable aspirations soar.
