Bluegrass Gives is our region’s biggest day of generosity, bringing people together to support the nonprofits that care for our communities across Central and Appalachia Kentucky.
The Impact
Thanks to our generous donors and sponsors, Bluegrass Gives has raised $29 million for our region’s hard-working nonprofits since its inception in 2011!
On Giving Tuesday 2025, our community showed up in a big way! Bluegrass Gives raised $3.14 million for 235 local nonprofits, making it our biggest campaign to date. Thousands of donors came together to support local causes, proving that everyone benefits when you give where you live.

Nonprofit Participation Requirements
In order to participate in Bluegrass Gives, organizations must satisfy the following requirements by the registration deadline of Sept. 4:
- Organizations must be registered and in good standing as a 501(c)(3) public charity according to the Internal Revenue Code, or must be a charitable program that is fiscally sponsored by such an organization.
- Institutions of faith may participate only when raising funds for secular charitable programming, such as a food pantry operated by the organization. Educational programs operated within a religious institution, including a parochial school, may participate only when the funds support secular educational purposes.
- Organizations may not participate if they are identified by due diligence tools as participating in hateful or terroristic activities.
- Organizations must submit their annual solicitation registration with the Kentucky Attorney General.
- Organizations must be physically located within Blue Grass Community Foundation’s service area counties (Anderson, Bath, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Fayette, Franklin, Harrison, Jessamine, Madison, Magoffin, Montgomery, Morgan, Rowan, Scott and Woodford).
- Location must be verifiable on Candid, your website, or other means. A post office box alone does not constitute a physical location for Bluegrass Gives participation requirements.
