Kentucky-bred Curlin, thoroughbred racing’s 2007 Horse of the Year, is helping provide $100,000 for Kentucky children’s charities from his winnings as one of the most celebrated horses in racing today.
The Lexington Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) authorized East End Small Area Plan will officially begin with a community kickoff rally on Thursday, June 12, 2008 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Charles Young Community Center Park, 540 East Third Street, Lexington.
Blue Grass Community Foundation was founded in 1967 by a group of citizens interested in encouraging philanthropy and enhancing the quality of life in our region. Since then BGCF has been connecting people who give to causes they care about and to the needs of our community by providing philanthropic leadership and support. Through donor advised, unrestricted, designated, field-of-interest, scholarship and agency endowment funds, the Foundation currently has approximately $40 million in assets and awards over $2.3 million annually in grants.
