BGCF’s mission is to connect people who give to causes they care about and to the needs of our community by providing philanthropic leadership and support. We advance charitable giving. We seek to enhance the quality of life in our region, for today and tomorrow.
The Blue Grass Community Foundation exists to enhance the quality of life for all people of our region.
- Talking with donors about their charitable interests and finding ways to achieve their goals;
- Providing flexible and cost-effective ways for donors to enhance their communities; and
- Providing professional management and stewardship to preserve and enhance donors’ funds in perpetuity.
- Striving for measurable community improvements through strategic grantmaking in the arts and humanities, community development, education, health, social services, and in other areas of community needs; and
- Promoting and participating in partnerships on evolving community issues and leveraging resources to address major needs.
- Serving as a leader, catalyst, and center for education on charitable giving;
- Broadening the base of charitable giving in our region;
- Preserving and enhancing an endowment to address changing community needs in cooperation with all interested parties; and
- Making available forums to identify evaluate and respond to the region’s most pressing issues.
