Community Bridges
Connecting Donor Interests with Community Needs

We are excited to introduce Community Bridges, a powerful new web-service at Blue Grass Community Foundation.  It is our hope that this tool will help to inform, empower, and enrich charitable giving in this region, benefiting donors, nonprofits, and the community at large.

So how does it work?

Nonprofit organizations have been invited to post their top three (3) needs. Individuals, families, businesses or foundations interested in meeting one of more of these needs may either give through the Community Foundation or directly to the charity as listed. While the Community Foundation has not researched or prioritized the needs listed, staffers are happy to request more information from a charity on behalf of a prospective donor and can keep such inquiries anonymous. Donors can then use this information to make informed charitable decisions. These agencies are categorized below by the primary focus area of the organization (i.e. Arts and Culture, Education, Human Services, etc.). Select a category of interest or select View All for a comprehensive list of all agency needs.

BGCF is dedicated to making charitable giving easy, flexible and effective and to building bridges between donors and nonprofits that make a difference in our community.

Community Bridges allows local nonprofits to post their organization’s top three (3) needs, with information on projects addressing each need. The organization simply completes and returns the enclosed Needs Summary Form" (above) along with a copy of your charity’s 501(c)(3) notification letter.  Once these materials are returned to BGCF, your needs will be posted on our website for donors to view.  We encourage you to keep your posting up to date by sending any updates using the same form to BGCF by the 25th of each month.
